“People leave traces of themselves where they feel most comfortable, most worthwhile.” Haruki Murakami

What a dream for our park, our community, our world. To have a place continuously enriched with little bits of beauty, left behind by all the people who came and found belonging.

The more people we are able to connect with, the better chance we have of designing a park that has traces of all the beautiful people who were here, are here and will be here one day.

We always call Eli our wayfinder because he led us and left us a path to follow toward a more just and inclusive world. Every person who has supported, joined and guided us on this journey is an equally important part of this path.

Thank you for sharing your stories, hearts and love.

Thank you for your generous donations and gifts of time.

Thank you, sincerely, for leaving a trace.

Love and gratitude to all of you as you enjoy and endure the holidays.

We all need lifting, belonging, community and nature.

A donation to The Eli’s Park Project on #GivingTuesday, December 3, will support the design and creation of a beautiful park that everybody can access, where everybody feels welcome. Seattle Parks Foundation is stepping up to make your gift go further by donating $100 for every new donor…up to $700!

A donation is a lift. A share is a lift. A like is a lift.

Thank you for standing up for access and inclusion for all.

So many of you have been reaching out and saying you want to help and are just waiting for an opportunity. Well, okay, at least one of you said that!

We are really excited to have a huge proposal submitted on our behalf in this year’s city budget cycle. You can increase our odds of receiving public funding by emailing our city councilmembers at: council@seattle.gov and telling them why you support The Eli’s Park Project by November 22nd.

Here are a few things we believe:

· Everybody deserves access to nature and the health benefits it provides.

· A more diverse community will result in a more inclusive world.

· There are too many people excluded from our community because of a lack of physical or emotional access and safety.

· Every person and voice is important.

· People with privilege have a responsibility to center and amplify the voices of our brothers and sisters who have equal value but less access to power.

· The people who will use this park have to be the people informing the design.

· This is going to be a beautiful park enjoyed by our beautiful community!

Some people believe early Halloween celebrations included Druids making predictions about the future. If this project helps you imagine a brighter future for yourself or someone you love, please share your story.

Whether you celebrate Halloween or not, I think we can all agree that Yoda would say, Much work to do, we still have!
