GiveBIG, Seattle’s online giving event, begins today. Here are three easy ways you can have an impact this year:

Give.

Engage.

Share.

Give.

This year Seattle Parks Foundation is contributing $100 for each new donor that any partner group receives during GiveBIG (up to $1,500). So, if you plan to give this year, we encourage you to support a new project. Or two!

Here are a few of the amazing groups that have inspired us this year:

You really can’t go wrong. All partners are doing incredible and important work around our city. For a complete list of partners click here.

Engage.

You don’t have to donate to have a huge impact on community projects. The Eli’s Park Project is applying for another Neighborhood Matching Fund grant from the Seattle Department of Neighborhoods. A central part of these awards is the community match which can be met with volunteer time. You’ve helped us meet our match this cycle! You can help us do it again by pledging your volunteer hours here.

Share.

Call your grandma, email your friends or do all the social media things people do.

Your support is everything. As one member of our design team always says, “You know, we’re really gonna do this, right?” We are. With you and because of you!

With love, gratitude and hope for a more inclusive world.

Tuesday, April 16th, from 6:00-8:00pm at The Mountaineers our design team will be presenting our most recent concept for The Burke-Gilman Playground Park. This plan represents two years of feedback and the stories, hopes and dreams of our community.

We think our team has done a fantastic job...but we need your input. What do you love? What are we missing? What doesn't work? This is our last official community meeting. While we'll definitely continue to reach out and seek your advice along the way, the feedback we get Tuesday will start us on a path toward the final design. Please come help us guarantee we're on a path that includes you and those you love. Children always welcome and wanted!

Oh, and, Frelard Tamales. These generous guys (who happen to make the best tamales around) are donating tamales for the meeting. You definitely don't want to miss that! Check out their story. You'll be inspired by their love for each other, tradition, tamales and their community.

Thank you all for the support, trust and enthusiasm you shared with us so far. You're truly the reason we're on this journey. If you need translation or accommodations please reach out to Paige at pmreischl@gmail.com. Hope to see you there!

Hard to believe it's been over a year since our kick-off celebration at Ravenna Brewing. We are so grateful for the passionate, powerful community driving this effort.

Time for round two! Any time, any day the week of March 11-17, stop by Ravenna Brewing and enjoy an Inclusion IPA and they'll donate $1 to The Eli's Park Project. Our design team will be there Sunday the 17th between 12pm-7pm with drawings. It's a great time to share your hopes for the park and give your feedback on our most recent design drafts.

There are lots of ways to drink beer for good. Celebrate with us the 17th or organize a happy hour with friends, check out the food truck schedule and bring your families, pass along to coworkers, maybe even bring cupcakes and celebrate your oldest son Jaxon's 11th birthday...whatever works for you!

Hope to see you there. Cheers!
